11 Celebrities Who You Didn’t Know Have Diabetes

Patti LaBelle
Patti LaBelle is an American singer and actress. She started her career as the lead singer of the vocal group called Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. She is regarded as the Godmother of Soul. However, the group split in 1976, and LaBelle started a successful solo career.
She won a 1992 Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her album called Burnin’ (1991), as well as a second Grammy Award for her album Live! One Night Only.
In 1995, LaBelle was diagnosed with diabetes, but it seems that this condition was genetically inherited since her mother died in 1978 of diabetes. Her uncle also went blind from the disease. She said publicly that she feels great now and that she’s a “DIVAbetic”.
