You should avoid diet soda

The truth is that diet soda is delicious when you want to drink something fresh, but it seems that it is not healthy at all. Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners and this is why you should avoid this drink. 

“Those can be even worse than actual sugar,” says Shonali Soans, M.S., R.D., C.D.N., a registered dietitian at New York City Nutrition.

Moreover, another good reason to avoid this type of soda is that it can increase the risk of cancer and gastrointestinal diseases. 

“The sugar in regular soda, high fructose corn syrup, is an artificial sugar which is not found in nature and is linked to obesity and weight gain. Because of the sweet taste, there is an insulin surge in your bloodstream, but, in reality, you have not consumed any sugar at all,” says Chris Thiagarajah M.D. oculoplastic surgeon at Park Avenue Oculoplastics in Denver, Colorado.
