Donating the most to charity: Indonesia

Indonesia has dethroned Myanmar as the country that donates the most to charity, according to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) World Giving Index.

Myanmar was the winner for four years in a row until 2017. About half of Indonesians have helped a stranger and volunteered their time, and 78% have donated money to charities.

The ranking of the most generous countries is based on data from Gallup’s World View World Poll, which surveys people in 146 countries. Questions involve giving behavior.
