You might want to think twice before trying to capture the perfect selfie inside the crown jewel of Vatican City. (Even taking photos of Michelangelo’s famous ceiling is considered against the law).

According to Conde Nast Traveler, taking photos inside the Sistine Chapel has been illegal since 1980, when the Vatican raised $4.2 million in renovation funds from Japan’s Nippon TV in exchange for exclusive photo and video rights to all of the art inside the Sistine Chapel.
