The Ice Hotel returns with new suites featuring a candy shop, an aquarium and a bathing ice woman. From designs out of snow and ice for the 29th incarnation of the hotel to the hotel’s opening weekend (14-16 December), these photos will show you cool designs made from ice.

The annual hotel is built over 12 weeks from October to December. In April it melts back into the river.

“The suite is inspired by the climate changes and the overfishing that affects our oceans,” said Paul.

The hotel’s opening weekend (14-16 December) saw the operation of Discover the World’s first IceFlight of the year, the first of 11 return flights, which operate between Heathrow and Kiruna until March 2019.
