Granieri’s two-category winning image was praised by judges: ‘There is an element of tenderness about it, and in the composition Renato has managed to capture a touching moment with the highest technical and compositional standards.’ The winning photos can also be seen in the April issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK), on sale 1 March, and online at natgeotraveller.co.uk.
