In Photos: Hundreds Are Killed by Gun Violence in Chicago
A memorial on a manhole cover for Ida Arvizu, 28, in the 4700 block of South Fairfield Avenue in Chicago. Arvizu, who was pregnant, and also has a seven-year-old daughter, was shot and killed with three other victims while sitting in a car.
A vigil for 17-month-old Semaj Crosby, outside her home in the 300 block of Louis Road in Joliet, Illinois. Her body was found under a couch in her home. Her death is being ruled as a homicide by asphyxia.
A teddy bear is placed in a chain link fence for Jeanine Dowell, 32, and Juliet Washington, 41, in the 5400 block of South Wabash in Chicago. Both women died from multiple gunshot wounds while driving in a car.
Bullet holes are seen around the front porch where Sedrick Ringer, 50, was killed in the 5700 block of South Wells Street in Chicago. Ringer was shot nine times and died at the scene.
