Knocked houses, damaged vehicles, stones blocking the road, waist-deep mudflow, all these pictures were made after a heavy rain in southern California. This happened because the area had been left very vulnerable after wildfires stripped hills of vegetation.

These photos will shock you – the mud was reported to be up to 5ft deep in some places. Unfortunately, as a result of this mudflow and all that came along with it, at lest 13 persons were killed.

From members of the Heavy Water Search and Rescue team who are helping to evacuate a resident to emergency personnel who is carrying a woman who was rescued from a collapsed house.
