Fire engulfs the hills close to the village of Palasca on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica. The fires, near Ville-di-Paraso, have burned some 1,250 acres and continued to be fanned by strong southwesterly winds, spreading to the villages of Costa, Occhiatana, Novella and Palasca.
