Brittany Wright is a Seattle-based photographer who is definitely dedicated to her work. To her, everything from timing to details and colors matters.
She sets up intricate culinary scenes that focus primarily on the differentiation of fruits’ and vegetables’ coloration, documenting them to more than 75,000 Instagram followers using the #foodgradients label and displaying them on her website.
Wright captures a rainbow of colors in foods ranging from heaps of apples to carrots plucked freshly from the earth.
Each photograph focuses on the produce against a stark single-colored background, a way to display the food’s vibrant shades without distraction.
Inspired by abstract artists — not food photography — her goal is to get people more familiar with what they eat by documenting how it changes.
