Photography Mistakes You Probably Make Too

These days, photo editing can work miracles on even what looks like an awful failure. However, there are some mistakes even the most advanced techniques can’t fix – which is why we should all pay attention to them.

Blurry Photos

Fixing this mistake is really a piece of pie as long as you stay focused for a minute: keep your camera still! Most of the times, blurring a photo often happens when there’s little to no light around. Do your best to maintain the same position of your camera and if that still doesn’t work, well, maybe you should try a different angle.

Exaggerated Contrast

Contrast appears in a photo when the difference between light and darkness is too high. Usually, that happens when you’re photographing something in sunlight. A good trick here is to use the flash so you can bring some light to your main element as well. Or, you can just go somewhere with more shadows.

Off-Colors

You’ve probably noticed that photos taken indoors tend to have a certain main color that’s partially covering all the other colors around. This happens especially during night time when the only light source is an orange light bulb. Going for the ‘auto’ mode will save you some time and make your photos look much more vivid!

Less Is More

Yep, the same old rule applies when it comes to photography as well. Now unless you are an expert at framing your scenery, one main focal point is more than enough. This main point has to be the one that stands out in your photo, so make sure to exclude any element that might distract the viewer.

The Subject Is Too Far

Regarding the last rule of ‘less is more,’ if your main focal point is a person, you might want to keep a certain distance between your camera and him. Regardless of the scenery and action, a subject located too far won’t have such a big impact for viewers. Basically, this might mean losing your focal point and your photo can become plain and boring.
