US Marine Vet With Amputated Legs Becomes First Double Amputee Cop Ever
Life wasn’t all that easy for former US Marina Matias Ferreira. After serving in Afghanistan for quite some time, he lost both of his legs and fought a long way to overcome the tragedy.
Today, he has officially became the first double amputee officer of the United States to be on full duty ever.
The 28-year-old officer has been dreaming of working for the law ever since he was a teenager. After high school, he joined the US Marine Corps and ended up in Afghanistan.
In 2011, he accidentally stepped on a hidden explosive mine. Matias had both of his legs amputated below the knee.
But that wasn’t going to stop him.
