Just like phones aren’t meant only to make phone calls anymore, watches aren’t what they used to be either. Unfortunately, however, those suffering from blindness couldn’t enjoy the benefits of such a cool gadget.. until now.
‘Dot’ is the name of the South Korean company that is now well-known for its creative invention: the first (affordable) smart watch ever made. Just like a usual smart watch, this one connects to the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth as well and delivers messages or phone call alerts on screen. In Braille.
Users also have the option to send a specific message by pressing a button located on one side of the watch.
This April, the company is finally ready to start shipping the products worldwide. They all come at a decent price and they also include an open API which allows developers to adapt the device according to their needs.
