War In Pictures: The Horrors Of Aleppo

Aleppo is the largest city in Syria and used to be the city with most inhabitants per square km. Ever since the 2012 Syrian Civil War began, though, things have changed. Today, Aleppo is no longer a city; it is a battlefield.

International photographers have been documenting the events, the locals, the fights, the sadness that surrounds this war site ever since it has begun. Today, Life in Photos introduces you to a shocking world of war: Aleppo.

Locals are running away from an explosion started at an oil shop on October 20th, 2013. The fire was probably caused by a bullet fired by a professional sniper loyal to the Syrian President.

Locals are walking nearby 3 upright buses placed as barricades on a street. The buses are used for protection against snipers loyal to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The barricades were created by the rebel-controlled Bustan al-Qasr neighbourhood on March 21st, 2015.
